About the client:

With production facilities in Hong Kong and Asia, our client the largest producer of wholesome food in the world, and consumers throughout the Asia-Pacific area use their goods. To supervise central kitchen operations by managing a technical resources team and working successfully with various peers within the organization. Currently they are seeking a Central Kitchen Manager for support direct and control all activities in Factory (Central Kitchen) and responsible for the creation and maintenance of a high standard of culinary artistry, product quality, and effective control, including labour and food cost, through professional administrative skill, staff selection, training, supervision, and development.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Create a yearly budget for manufacturing expenses (including direct and indirect) - Reach budgeted gross profit by limiting expenses and improving production efficiencies.
  • Manage timetables and job priorities, as well as allocating resources to satisfy production deadlines and goals.
  • Create and implement a team performance-driven culture. Alignment of values within the factory team to enable the entire manufacturing team to operate in the same direction and towards the same goals.
  • Research and build an organisational structure with defined roles and responsibilities to accelerate organisational decision making.
  • Evaluate overall performance and suggest training needs for production personnel to maintain and increase professionalism.
  • Create a safety plan and conduct safety inspections to ensure a safe working environment and that company safety requirements are followed.
  • Enforcing quality-control procedures and supervising quality standards
  • Work with Supply Chain, Operations, and Suppliers to ensure that the receiving and shipping schedules execute well.
  • Verify that the Company's, the factories, and the public health authorities' sanitary standards are rigorously followed.
  • Keep an eye on all aspects of production to verify that product criteria for presentation, preparation, and quality are satisfied.
  • Supervise the team to ensure that appropriate / reasonable stock levels are maintained for operations.
  • Ensure that all production equipment and machines are properly maintained, and that replacement programmes are implemented, as well as the procurement of new equipment for new business and material processing.
  • Participate in the creation of a new low-cost menu for various brands/products.
  • Collaborate with the Finance and Operations teams to develop the most effective menu and production flow to meet the company's sales targets.
  • Speak with the front-line operations team about all issues concerning the factory's service and take rapid corrective action.
  • Manage and lead the team in responding quickly and effectively to all quality complaint issues.
  • Begin a cost-cutting project that includes both human and material savings.
  • Conduct continuous production flow reviews to identify waste and idle in all operating areas.
  • Ensure that the factory licence and quality certificate are successfully maintained
  • Ensure that all employees carry out their jobs in accordance with the terms and conditions.
  • Assure workplace safety and eliminate any workplace injuries.

Candidates Profile:

  • Degree with substantial experience in the catering or central kitchen industry, 12 years managerial level in industrial operations, and a Hygiene certificate at the intermediate or higher level.
  • Expertise with cost-cutting projects and a Six Sigma certification will be advantageous.
  • Experience with ISO 22000 and HACCP certification programmes.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing & Food & Beverage R&D will be advantageous.
  • Thorough understanding of production machinery and procedures.
