From a practical standpoint, the most valuable attribute of a selection procedure is the degree to which it successfully predicts important future job-related criteria, such as performance, cultural-alignment, absenteeism, and retention. Over the years, considerable research has shown that modern psychometric assessment is one of the most valid predictors of future job performance. Research has also reliably demonstrated that some commonly used measures have little or no predictive validity whatsoever. These include graphology, age, personal interests, years of education, and job experience. As such, with increasing frequency, employers are now turning to rigorous, evidencebased psychometric testing to aid in selection decisions.

Psychometric assessments give you reliability as they measure what you are looking for more accurately, and validity as they are better predictors of job performance.

When organisations hire for cultural fit, employees experience greater job satisfaction, perform better, and have higher commitment towards the company, and ultimately higher retention.

Cognitive ability is also an excellent predictor of job-related learning. Compared to ‘common’ selection procedures, the use of personality tests that measure integrity not only predicts job performance and turnover, but also reduces the probability of counterproductive work behaviours on the job, such as fighting, stealing, or excessive absenteeism.

Our team of 20+ psychologists nationally are assessment experts and have designed and delivered countless assessments all fully grounded in best practice whilst drawing from market-leading innovations in technology and methodology.

Our online assessment platform ‘Assessment Gateway’ is unique in Australia. We can administer a broad range of psychological, behavioural, cognitive and skills-based assessments as a standalone service or incorporated into an end-to-end recruitment service.

Assessment Gateway provided flexible options, better applicant and hiring manager experience, valet or self-service options and customisable reporting and branding options.
